Hurricane Frances and Orlando Kannada Convention

Hurricane Frances is posing a great threat to Florida and its actual course is still not predictable by US weather experts. We are told that it is expected to make a land fall in the Bahamas on Thursday morning.

AKKA WKC 2004 Convention Committee have carefully reviewed the weather situation and have decided to continue with Convention activities as scheduled ( Sept.3-5 ) mainly because many convention delegates and artistes from out of the country have already arrived in Orlando and AKKA WKC 2004 Convention Committee has expended considerable resources in making all arrangements. Gaylord Palm Resort (Convention site) have assured us that their facilities are fully geared and prepared to meet the weather conditions posed by Frances though a direct hit by the storm in or around the region may make it difficult and may affect the road and air transportation and the convention facilities.

While we would like all of you to attend the Convention, we would urge you to watch the weather forecasts and warnings and make your own decisions regarding your travel to Orlando and participation in the AKKA WKC 2004 Convention activities. However, we would like to remind you that AKKA WKC 2004 Convention Committee has no control over the natural calamities and its consequences. Therefore, AKKA WKC 2004 Convention Committee cannot and will not assume any financial responsibility for the decision you make regarding the convention participation and for any personal discomfort or loss that may arise from such a decision except for assuring that AKKA WKC 2004 Convention Committee will do everything reasonably possible to conduct the Convention in as safe an environment as the weather permits.
