ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಿದೆ? : ಸಲ್ಮಾನ್ ಫಾರ್ಸಿ

(ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಕಟವಾದ 'ಕನ್ನಡ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವೋ ? ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ ರಾಜ್ಯೋತ್ಸವವೋ ?'ಲೇಖನಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆಯಾಗಿ ಕಾಮೆಂಟ್ಸ್ ಅಂಕಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂಡಿಬಂದ ಒಂದು ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯಿತು. ಕನ್ನಡಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನೇನು ಮಾಡಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸ್ವಾನುಭವಗಳನ್ನು ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡ ಆ ಟಿಪ್ಪಣಿಯನ್ನು ಲೆಟರ್ ಆಫ್ ದಿ ಡೇ ವಿಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಳಕುಕಾಣಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಕನ್ನಡ ಓದಲು ಬರದವರು ಕೂಡ ಸಲ್ಮಾನ್ ಫಾರ್ಸಿ ಅವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಓದುವಂತಾಗಲಿ : ಸಂಪಾದಕ)

We(Kannadigas) just wipe off our hand by writing comments without even noticing how much we have done for our Language, today.

In otherwords, every individual must jot down(write down) what he has done today for our "Kannada Nudi". Ultimately, every single minute work of every kannadiga at every single day will multiply.

Hence, I take this opportunity to explain how I have been successful in making kannada reverberate among non-kannadigas with some examples.

First One : I moved from my native village to bengaLuru & continued my education from 6th Standard in a Kannada medium school which had 70% non-kannada speaking pupils. It was disappointing to note that even Kannadigas spoke other tongue instead of their own due to shyness & inferiority complex.

I was elected as a monitor of the class by my teacher after I outperformed everyone in the examination. The first thing that I did was to warn all the students that if anybody found speaking in any other tongue other than kannada will be dealt accordingly.

Most of the time I used to ask questions on subjects randomly, just make them get the habit of speaking in Kannada. Later instructed every student to change their binding outcover of books to be written in Kannada, speeches every week in Kannada, Jokes in Kannada, Songs to be sung in Kannada, etc.

It worked. Believe me. It had an adverse effect in other classes & one day it was declared by the headmaster that only kannada will be spoken in the premises of school strictly, else will be fined. Then my journey continued.....

Today, I'm out of my state for making a livelihood where I'm a sole kannadiga in my department. I continued my aggressive nature of promoting kannada language in the midst of non-kannadigas.

Not that I have to speak kannada with them here. Its a different game altogether. Making them listen kannada songs which suites to their taste. Even if they didn't understand, they loved its tunes. Sending articles/pictures/videos constantly are all part of my work.
