‘ಫ್ಯಾಮಿಲಿ ಮಾರ್ಟ್' ಪುರಾಣ ಕೇಳಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಈಗ ‘ಫೋರಂ' ಪುರಾಣ!
Dear
Sir,
We
are
writing
about
our
bad
experience
and
humiliation
we
had
to
undergo
at
The
Forum
Mall.
We
from
Banavasi
Balaga
had
been
to
view
a
Kannada
Movie
at
the
PVR
Multiplex
in
Forum
Mall
at
Koramangala,
on
Saturday
19th
February,
2005.
Right
from
the
security
personnel
to
the
Customer
Care
personnel,
there
were
no
Kannadigas.
A
security
person
shouted
at
us
in
Hindi
when
we
were
driving
in
to
the
Mall.
We
insisted
the
security
personnel
to
talk
in
Kannada
but
the
guy
replied
back
"Kya
Kannada"
in
an
arrogant
manner.
No
Kannada,
speak
in
Hindi
he
replied
back.
We
were
very
much
agitated
hearing
the
security
person
insulting
Kannada.
We
all
protested
against
this
to
the
Security
Manager
who
was
also
a
non-kannadiga
and
who
was
not
able
to
understand
or
speak
in
Kannada.
Inside the Mall, the lady at the Customer Care centre, looked at us as if we are aliens, when we spoke to her in Kannada. We requested her to make an announcement in Kanndada asking our Friend who was missing to come with his Car at the entrance of the Shopping Mall. The lady did not give attention to us and continued assisting other Non-kannadiga Customers who were speaking in Hindi and English. We again protested to the lady in English, saying this is not the way to treat local Kannadiga Customers. She continued with her work ignoring our comments. This is the way Kannadigas are being treated in our own Capital City of Karnataka, Bengalooru.
Majority of the shops in the Forum Mall did not have Kannada Display Boards. There were very few Display boards in Kannada put up by some Shops in the Mall and that too Cheap material was used to display Kannada names in some corner for name sake where as they used Glow-sign boards to display English Names. This is the state of Kannada not only in Forum Mall but in many so called posh places in the City.
We visited many shops in the mall and tried to communicate with the sales boys and girls in Kannada, but to our dismay majority of the shops had employed staff who were not Kannadigas and did not know Kannada. They were all from other states like Tamil Nadu, Andhra, Kerala and North Indian states.
We request you to publish this incident in www.thatskannada.com so that the Forum Management can get more responses from the Kannadigas across the world for the shabby treatment meted out to Kannada and Kannadigas at The Forum Mall.
