ಆಚಾರ ಹೇಳೋಕೆ, ಬದನೆ ಕಾಯಿ ತಿನ್ನೋಕೆ!

ಮಾಧ್ಯಮಗಳ ವಿಶ್ವಸನೀಯತೆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಾಲಂಗಟ್ಟಲೇ ಬರೆಯುವ ರವಿ ಬೆಳಗೆರೆ, ನಟಿ ರೂಪಿಣಿ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನು? ಅದಿರಲಿ, ಶಾರದಾ ಪ್ರಸಾದ್‌ ಸುದ್ದಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ನೆನಪಿದೆಯೇ?

What you say is 100% correct. We should always take these articles with a pinch of salt. But who can better write this article than yourself? Remember Roopini?

I have another funny story to narrate. I am sorry I am writing this after a couple of years. It is about an insignficant person named Sharada Prasad. Couple years back your esteemed news paper had published a small article about him getting a UGC committee nomination. It was a caustic article which claimed that the person took the Vice chancellor of Mysore University to Chamundi hills , Zoo etc and performed some "night services" to obtain this. One thing that was obvious from the article itself was that the author did not know even the gender of the person. I am not sure if many people even bothered to read the article as it just concerned some UGC posting.

Sharada Prasad is my father. Now retired. And when the posting had appeared in his name he himself was surprised. Because he had not asked any person for this favour. He neither commented on the article nor wanted us to write/call you and point out the error as he felt it was just someones political agenda taking the form of a news in your newspaper. He is still an ardent reader of your newspaper, but these days he just reads your articles and not to any "news"!

See! It is so easy for you to preach. While you yourself cannot determine how much truth gets published in your newspaper. If a tabloid like yours cannot control the reportage, how can you expect it from bigger presses.

Contrary it may seem, but even to date, some newspapers like Indian Express are maintaining a pretty good standard and truth whereas publications like times of India are reduced to junk as far as the content is concerned.

My point? Its very easy for people to publish such articles and that includes you. Since I am abroad for the past couple of years I havent been reading your tabloid. I just wanted to ask you if you have taken any steps to prevent such junk news from getting printed in your own paper? If yes, then I would appreciate your efforts.
