Then I wanted to address an issue regarding my billing and I walked up to the help desk. A woman was behind the desk and when I started talking to her in Kannada about my issue, she said that she does not know Kannada and asked another person to help translate and I was in conversation with him about my issue.
Then the manager of Hutch Shop , Mr.A Talvar, walks in and stops the discussion and insists that I talk only to him. I agreed and tried to talk to him. He said " I dont know Kannada and you have to talk to me in English". I refused and insisted that I wanted to speak only in Kannada(in Kannada). To this he replied, "I know that you can speak in English and you have to speak to me in English." . I refused (in Kannada) and to my shock and horror, he said "If you want to talk to me you talk to me in English or no one will help you" and he asked the other person, whom I was talking to in Kannada, to get up and instructed him to leave the desk and asked me to leave the shop.
Then I went to the police station (in Puttanna Theater complex) and reported the incident and a constable was asked to accompany me to the Hutch Shop. We went and the employees said that Mr. Talvar will not speak to you as he is in a meeting and that our legal team will come and you can speak only to them.
After they made us (the police constable and me) wait for a long time and giving us wrong phone numbers to call and telling us that no one is available now, I went back to the police station and registered the complaint.
