Dear
Editor,
It
is
very
interesting
to
see
the
reaction
from
Amerikannadigas
in
the
light
of
what
Dr.
U.
R
Anantha
Murthy
and
Dr.
B.
C.
Ramachandra
Sharma
have
recently
said
about
English
etc.
Both
these
gentlemen
have
traveled
in
the
United
States
and
met
hundreds
of
kannadigas,
known
many
of
them
personally
and
have
understood
what
we
Amerikannadigas
go
through
here
on
a
daily
basis.
For
people
like
me
who
landed
here
some
25
years
ago,
we
had
the
good
fortune
of
getting
exposed
to
Kannada
culture
while
in
India,
and
we
picked
up
the
culture
of
this
land
upon
arrival,
so
we
are
able
to
enjoy
the
best
of
both
the
worlds.
As time progressed, changes have taken place in India. Bangalore has moved to the forefront in the IT field. Many young men and women, who would have probably pursued language studies, have taken up technical courses. No harm done. Karnataka, and in particular Bangalore, is known all over the world for its Software Engineers. So, while we lost some edge in our linguistic studies, we have gained a lot in other areas. We should be proud of the achievements of the Kannadigas.
Now talking about the Amerikannadigas, it is worth noticing that there are many good writers in America, most of them being hobby writers. I have read many of these writings, and see no difference in quality between some of the eminent writers in Karnataka and the writers here. Given the fact that we live in an environment that is entirely different, away from Kannada and Kartnataka, you should realize that these kannadigas who continue to keep writing in Kannada are to be appreciated. In fact, many of these writers never even wrote as long as they lived in Karnataka.
It
is
irrelevant
to
compare
who
or
where
Kannadigas
are
contributing
for
Kannada.
What
we
need
to
see
and
encourage
is
the
passion
that
these
Amerikannadiga
writers
have
in
them
to
write
in
Kannada.
There
are
about
26
Kannnada
Kootas
in
North
America,
serving
the
majority
of
Kannada
families
in
this
part
of
the
world.
The
love
and
affection
to
Kannada
by
these
Kannadigas
is
a
shining
example
of
their
interest
in
Kannada
and
its
welfare.
Instead
of
getting
in
to
controversies
and
discussions,
let
us
harness
our
talents
and
efforts
in
doing
more
constructive
work.
WE
always
welcome
Kannada
writers,
singers
and
artists
from
Karnataka
and
have
treated
them
well.
Dr.
GSS,
Dr.
Adiga,
Dr.
S.L.Byrappa,
Prof.N.S.
L.
Bhatta,
Dr,
Chandrashekar
Kambar
and
many
other
Kannada
writers
have
visited
North
America
and
enriched
our
culture
here.
Our
Amerikannada
writers
deserve
the
same
good
treatment
from
all
Kannadigas.

I
read
the
article
of
Ananthamurthy,
it
is
the
stupidest
thing
what
I
heard/read
in
my
life
time,
it
is
not
the
wise
thinking
and
no
theme/fact
in
that,
nothing
to
do
with
any
lanaguge
purely
it
depends
on
peolples.
Mr.
Ananthamurthy
was
the
good
writer,
I
read
the
novel
"Sanskaara",
it
was
so
good
novel
&
enjoyed
much.
I
strongly
recomend
to
write
good
novels
like
"Sanskaara"
instead
of
writing
or
misjudging
any
languages
in
the
world.
Thanks

Dear
Editor,
Sir, It has become a fashion for some of your writers to blame NRIs for everything. As I observed here (USA) from past 9 years, NRIs are minority in US. This minority sense builds up their Jagruthi about their culture, language and kids. NRIs kids are well raised, well taught and have well awareness of their culture. NRI kids may not speak their native language but they are well versed with their culture. You may see girls wearing short skirts/minis in Blore but you never see an indian girl wearing such dresses in US. You may see girls kissing/flirting publicly in Blore but you never see an indian girl doing all such sorts of things in US. Very rarely a muslim asks whether its halal meat or not in blore, but NRI muslim always make sure its halal meat, Why? because NRIs have the sense of Jagruthi, pride for their culture.
If your writer has concerns on Mr.NRI, who commented on Mr.Ananth Murthys comments, please advise them to address to the issue. Janakis writing clearly shows that she is jealous. Ms. Janaki is clearly using this issue to takeout her jealous. As always Kyge yetukadha dhrakshi huli

:

My Dear Friends,
I
am
not
happy
about
any
of
this
nonsense
going
on
between
NRIs
and
resident
kannadigas:(
just
a
thought....I
feel
when
someone
is
in
better
shape
than
another,
it
might
be
a
good
idea
for
that
person
to
play
down
his
fortunes
a
little,
just
from
a
human
point
of
view...that
might
help....I
say
this
coz
I
can
see
from
very
close
quarters
where
the
shoe
is
pinching
here
in
India!!
Now,
people
here
feel
touchy
becoz
it
is
difficult
for
them
to
be
broadminded
about
NRIs
when
NRIs
probably
get
something
(either
award,
or
money
or
respect..whatever)
which
they
feel
they
also
deserve
but
never
get..but
that
is
the
failure
of
the
system
here....not
the
fault
of
NRIs.
At
the
same
time,
if
the
NRI
crowd
can
make
the
home-birds
understand
that
they
are
not
really
on
a
high
horse,
they
are
only
trying
to
find
their
roots,
and
if
they
stop
feeling
so
touchy
for
everything
commented
upon,
(ask
oneself
if
the
same
reaction
would
be
there
if
someone
"there"
comments
on
NRIs
achievements???
)
and
let
them
know
that
they
have
their
own
difficulty
in
their
own
way,
it
might
really
help!!!
it
takes
both
hands
to
do
this
job!
I
still
feel
its
easier
for
someone
in
better
shape
to
go
that
little
extra
mile
to
make
the
underdog
understand
and
appreciate
the
scene
better!
Thanks,
