In the interest of unity among all Kannada Kutas, AKKA Executive Board did not respond to the false accusations and innuendos by a few people in the past several weeks. Now it has reached a stage where AKKA’s reputation is being damaged and many Kannadigas may be wondering about the confusions and misrepresentations created by this individuals. Hence I am communicating the facts so that everyone understands the issues and not support those who are intent on splitting AKKA.

AKKA Constitution was prepared and approved by nine steering committee members in 1998. The approved Constitution was submitted to the Florida State for Registering AKKA as a not for profit Organization. The same was used to get the IRS tax-exempt status. This is exactly per the Robert’s Rule of Order for Start up Organizations. There is no requirement for a new Organization to get the Constitution ratified since the new Organization will not have a General Body. Later you can amend the Constitution. This is how all Organizations get started. The dissident group which claims this is not legal, they themselves passed another Constitution with nine votes and are calling it as an approved Constitution! AKKA has conducted elections based on the Constitution approved in 1998, conducted two World Conferences successfully, have filed appropriate papers with the government agencies every year since inception.
