ನಿಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಾಂಪ್ರದಾಯಿಕ ಹೀರೋಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೇಕಾದ ಗುಣ ಲಕ್ಷಣಗಳನ್ನು ಪಟ್ಟಿ ಮಾಡಿ. ನಮ್ಮ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಹೀರೋಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿಯಾಂದರಲ್ಲೂ ಅಂಕಗಳನ್ನು ನೀಡಿ ಒಂದು ಚಾರ್ಟ್‌ ಪ್ರಕಟಿಸಿ.

ಅಂದ ಹಾಗೆ ಪುನೀತ್‌ ರಾಜ್‌ ಕುಮಾರ್‌ ಕೂಡ ಹೀರೋ ಆಗಲಿದ್ದಾರೆಂದು ಕೇಳಿದೆ. ಆ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಲೇಖನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ.

Dear Editor,

Present day children are the leaders of the future. It is unfortunate that they are being exposed to the atrocities, terrorism, destruction, human suffering and in some heart wrenching instances, to the loss of their loved ones, in the middle east on a daily basis, just last week close to home in New York. More may be looming in Afghanistan and Iraq.

The future presidents, chairmen, prime ministers and few other leaders of various groups are going to emerge from these children, with revenge and hatred in their heart. They do aspire preservation of their faith and belief. They would like to achieve that goal even if it means more death and destruction. I shudder to think; some may even have at their fingertips the switch button to weapons of mass destruction!

On the other hand, we may see from the future generation, leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Martin Luther King, Nelson Mandela, who understand the futility of the cycle of violence and reject it and seek world peace through tolerance and co-existence with people of differing faith, race and opinion.

Now what kind of world leaders would we wish for our children and grand children?

Dear Editor

I read the article on Vishnuvardhan in which you say he has become typecast. You are absolutely right about that. The problem is he has imprisoned himself in the prison he himself has built. Any actor who acts and worried too much on box office will end up like Vishnu. Even Dr.Raj has put himself in the same situation. Even at the age of 73 his fans expect him to dance with heroines who are fit to be his grand daughters. In that way Ananth Nag is better off. It seems some time back few fans of his went to his house and asked him whether they can form a fan club. AnanthNag Refused saying who ever watched his movies or his fans. That way he can take up any role which he thinks challenges his acting skills.

Can Dr.Raj or Vishnu can every dream of acting in an art movie?

I feel that the political parties are using this for dirty politics. After spending lakhs together for arrangements they are now talking of postponement/cancellation. I agree that the draught situation must be given first preference but it can be better done by organizing film festival..like this..

There is no doubt that there will be huge sponsors for this festival and money will certainly flow. The government can use this money for compensating the draught situation.

The government must think sensibly in this regard as this genuine opportunity for Karnataka to project kannada films and culture must not be left out while still caring for the draught situation.

Instead wasting time on some peoples writings and promoting those people, please support the cause of Kananda. Act promptly to bring it to the attention of Kanandigas. Bring it into discussion forums. Kannada is forgotten by all Indian Institutions all over the world.

Instead of wasting your resources and time on Dr. URAs Everyday Statements and other things on URA, get important articles that have been done or written by NON- KANNADIGAS like Dr. KITTEL and By Kannadigas about KANNADA and KARNATAKA in you portal. This gives more information to younger generation Kannadigas the heritage of Karnataka and KANNADA. They have to feel proud of themselves.

KITTEL a German missionary did a lot of good work for Dravidian languages, that too for KANNADA. The Basel Mission in particular and their library has good works of Dr. Kittel. Kannadigas should search for all archives and see if there were rough notes or whatever from Kittels stuff. I think Dr. Kittel has left lots of material to the library in Tuebingen. The German missionaries were trained well in languages--Latin, Greek, Hebrew, English of course, so many of them were well disposed to analyze languages they didnt know. I think some actually found a higher calling in writing dictionaries etc. than saving souls...

What is Dr. URA doing for KANNADA ??? Dr. URA knows only to divide KANNADIGAS and make statements everyday.

Dr. URA knows only to get AWRDS for himself by working around the Award Committees which gives them and also helping his friends to get Awards.

Rev. Dr. KITTEL should have been recommended by Govt. of Karnataka for an AWARD from Govt of India.

At least Govt. of Karnataka should honor this year by bestowing an
Rajyothsava Award to the missionary he belongs to ( BASEL MISSION ) for his work for KANNADA.

Harihareswara has a fantastic way of using basic, simple words like Time and Water for example, and viewing them through a kaleidoscope and make them look and sound infinitely meaningful and beautiful. His thought process is so intriguingly convoluted that he dissects these simple words, finds synonyms that most of cannot think of and traces their usage and interpretations in deep labyrinth of scriptures. It is a pure joy to follow him through his chain of thought. I cannot wait till next Wednesday.

Regarding the incident in Bellary i.e. making the women naked and taking her out public is shameful to all the Men in India and especially shame on all the Women in India for not fighting back.

Most of the time Women in India are just spectators and useless. I feel pity on that women and if I were to be that women, I would have burnt the whole village. I think the whole indian system is stupid, male dominated and corrupt.

Dear Editor -

I read the news in which the minister, B.K Chandrashekar has advised Kannadigas not to have stand of having only Kannada medium schools and colleges. While what he has said is true, that is, in the era of globalization one needs to acquire the knowledge of international language and that is English. However, has Sri.BKC ever wondered why people are so bent upon on imposing the local language. None of the past govt. bothered to worry why there is so much hue and cry about promoting Kannada. Today.

Kannadiga is minority in his own capital city and the day is not far when he/she will minority in his own state. The way it is going, I am sure, a Kannada minister needs an interpreter to make a statement in Vidhana Soudha.

Unplanned growth is the main reason for Bangalore becoming a dead city. Before the govt. allows other people to come and settle in Bangalore. It should have made sure the local people have the best facility in all the areas.

Thanks a lot for your valuable services in getting us advance information about Shri Bannanjes visit. The introductory article about Shri Bannanje is excellent providing a birdview of multifaced personality of Shri Bannanje who deserves has a special honour for his unparallel contribution to the world of literature and Hindu philisophy.

More important point to be noted is that he is visitng US after 20 years of his first visit. This clearly shows that he is not for name or fame but a silent contributor and true philosopher.

Reaction to Reaction

Sir,

This is with reference to Mr. Lokeshs reaction in the guestbook regarding Mr. Ananth Murthys statement that Kannada should be used by MNCs.

Mr. Lokeshs reaction was a hight of stupidity. The comments of Mr. Ananth Murthy meant that Kannada should be used as a part of Marketing and other Customer-Related strategy like Public relations. He never said that Kannada should be used as a business language.

It would be welcome if kannada be given high priority by MNCs in Karnataka and promote their products in karnataka using kannada only. MNCs like Godrej, Reckit & Coleman and even a Beatel Nuts packet like Ashoka used Tamil language along with English/Hindi just to please Tamilians. Why cant the MNCs in the state do the same. It just proves the carelessness about karnataka by such companies. I hope Mr. Lokesh understand it now.

Could anybody tell Mr. UR Ananth Murthy to keep quite. Does he know the unemployment rate in Karnataka. How can we ask an international company to use Kannada to do Business? I think it is time for Mr. Murthy to take retirement from thinking!

I read the article about Dr. Schiffman being bestowed ‘Ardent Admirer of Kannada’ award by Bay area Kannadigas. I congratulate Bay area Kannadigas for taking the initiative to honor such a distinguished linguist. Ms. Jyothi Mahadeva wrote the article superbly.

I was not aware that there was a contest among kannadigas overseas as to who is the KENE among the kannada THENE, and Bay area had won the title! If there was no contest, then coming from one of the members from there, it sounds like self promotion irrespective of whether it was deserved on not.
