ಕನ್ನಡದ ಓದುಗರು ಎಂತಹ ಲೇಖನಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾರೆ?

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಓದುಗರು ಎಂತಹ ಲೇಖನಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾರೆ?
ನಮ್ಮ ಬಳಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಪದೇ ಪದೇ ಹುಟ್ಟಿ, ಚರ್ಚೆಗೆ ಗ್ರಾಸವಾಗುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯಿದು. ಕುಂಭಮೇಳ, ಗುಜರಾತ್‌ ಭೂಕಂಪಗಳಂಥ ಜಗತ್ತನ್ನೇ ತನ್ನತ್ತ ಸೆಳೆದ ವಿಷಯಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಾವು ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ರಾಜಕುಮಾರ್‌ ಅಪಹರಣವಾದಾಗ ನಿದ್ದೆ ಗೆಟ್ಟು ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದೆವು. ಉಗ್ರರು ನ್ಯೂಯಾರ್ಕಿನ ವಿಶ್ವ ವ್ಯಾಪಾರ ಕೇಂದ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ವಿಮಾನ ನುಗ್ಗಿಸಿದಾಗ ಆಕಾಶ ಕಳಚಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿತೇನೋ ಎಂಬ ಒತ್ತಡದಲ್ಲೇ ಸುದ್ದಿ ಕಲೆಹಾಕಲು ಶುರುವಿಟ್ಟೆವು. ಬಜೆಟ್ಟಿನ ಪುಂಖಾನುಪುಂಖ ವರದಿಗೂ ಬೆನ್ನು ತೋರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಇನ್ನು ಸದಾ ಸದ್ದು ಮಾಡುವ ಸಾಂಗ್ಲಿಯಾನ, ಸುದ್ದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೇಲುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರುವ ಸಿಎಂ ಎಸ್ಸೆಂ- ಇಂಥವರ್ಯಾರನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಸಿನಿಮಾ, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ , ಸಂಸ್ಕೃತಿ, ಊರು- ಕೇರಿ ಸೆಕ್ಷನ್ನುಗಳು ಬರಗೆಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಇಷ್ಟಾಗಿ, ಉಳಿಯುವ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ ಜನ ಮೆಚ್ಚೋದೇನು? ಓದುಗ ಪ್ರಭುಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸೋದು ಹೇಗೆ?

ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಓದಿ ಚಪ್ಪರಿಸುವ ಮಂದಿಗೆ ಕೊರೆಯಿಲ್ಲ. ಚೆಂದದ ಅಡುಗೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಬಡಿಸಿ ಅಂತ ಪದೇಪದೇ ಬಡಿದೆಬ್ಬಿಸುವ ಇ- ಮೇಲ್‌ಗಳು ಒಂದೆಡೆ. ಜೋಕು ಜೋಕಾಲಿಯ ಇನ್ನೂ ಜೀಕಿ ಎನ್ನುವವರಷ್ಟು. ಅವರವರ ಭಾವಕ್ಕೆ ಭಕುತಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಓದು. ಒಬ್ಬ ಓದುಗನ ದಾಹ ತಣಿಸದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಆತ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಕೂರಲಾರ. ಹಾಗಾಗಿ ವೆಬ್‌ ಜಾಲದ ಕೆಲಸ ನಿತ್ಯ ಸವಾಲು.

‘ದಟ್ಸ್‌ಕನ್ನಡ ಡಾಟ್‌ ಕಾಂ’ ಹಾಗೂ ಕೊಂಡು ಓದುವವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಇರುವ ‘ಸೂಜಿಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ’ಯ ಡ್ರೆೃವಿಂಗ್‌ ಸೀಟಲ್ಲಿ ಕೂತಿರುವ ಓದುಗ ಬಳಗವನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಕಾರ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ, ಸವಾಲು ಜವಾಬುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸದಾ ಒಡ್ಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾ, ಕನ್ನಡ ಪತ್ರಿಕೋದ್ಯಮದ ಹಲವು ಮಜಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದುಡಿದ ಅನುಭವಿ- ನಮ್ಮ ಸಂಪಾದಕರು ಈಗ ಅಮೆರಿಕ ನೆಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವಲಸೆ ಹಕ್ಕಿಗಳಿಗೆ- ಓದುಗರಿಗೆ ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ನಮ್ಮ ಸವಾಲಿಗೆ ಪಕ್ಕಾ ಜವಾಬು ಕಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಸದವಕಾಶ ಇದು.

ಅಂದಹಾಗೆ, ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್‌ 7ನೇ ತಾರೀಖು ಶನಿವಾರ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನ 12.30ರಿಂದ 2.45 ಗಂಟೆವರೆಗೆ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಲ್‌ ಹಿಂದೂ ದೇವಾಲಯ, 420-450, ಪರ್ಷಿಯನ್‌ ಡ್ರೆೃವ್‌ನಲ್ಲಿ ದಟ್ಸಕನ್ನಡ ಡಾಟ್‌ ಕಾಂ ಸಂಪಾದಕರು ‘ಕನ್ನಡ ಓದುಗರು ಎಂತಹ ಲೇಖನಗಳನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚುತ್ತಾರೆ?’ ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯ ಕುರಿತು ಮಾತಾಡಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶಿಕಾರಿಪುರ ಹರಿಹರೇಶ್ವರ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದ ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದು, ವಿಶ್ವನಾಥ್‌ ಹುಲಿಕಲ್‌ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮ ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Sri. S K Shama Sundara ("Sham" to his friends) hails from Harihar in Karnataka. Sham had his formal education in Chitradurga and acquired a Bachelors degree in Arts. He being a good speaker and equipped to communicate effectively in Kannada, no wonder chose Journalism as his profession.

Today you can see him, greet him on the popular on-line Kannada Daily portal, www.thatskannada.com (a subsidiary of Indiainfo.com) read all over the world, and the recently started literary Kannada e-Magazine, Sooji Mallige, acclaimed one of the best in the field.

He was with several Magazines, Samyukta Karnataka (popular Kannada Daily famous since its inception during freedom movement in India), Sanjevani (Kannada Daily that introduced its World web edition first), and Kannada Prabha (the sister publication of very widely circulated Indian Express chain of News papers) before he stepped into www.oneindia.com.

For the last two years he is propagating Kannada on the web. He is visiting the USA to attend as a Journalist covering the proceedings of the World Kannada Conference being held on August 31, Sept 1st and 2nd in Detroit. MI where about three thousand five hundred participants are expected from all over the world.

Sham has held different positions in the State Journalists Press Club, in India. He has been the recipient of numerous honors and awards for his innovative Journalistic excellence, his helping attitude to the budding writers in Kannada, encouragement to Kannada Organizations, big and small all over the world. Recently he has been honored with an Award of Recognition for his service to the Kannada Community abroad by "Kaveri" Kannada Association of Washington DC area. During the recent Chitra Sankranti celebrations of North California Kannada Koota, Shama Sundara was honored, with an Award of Recognition for his encouragement to the promising writers in Kannada abroad and for propagating Kannada activities all over the world.
