Dear Kannadigas;

" I am contesting for one of the Four Director positions of AKKA from Midwest Region (north) of USA, because I feel Kannadigas and Kannada Kootas need a central national organization like AKKA to coordinate and assist local chapter Kannada Kootas and Kannadigas in conducting Sammelanas and other cultural activities to promote Kannada Language and culture in North America.

AKKA needs Kannadigas who can lead and direct the organization on a firm footing. I have been involved with National organizations such as ATA, which have been a great force in the Indian community in US and have successfully conducted national level conferences.

I have provided free professional services to Kannadigas and Kannada Kootas through my legal firm in various
ways.I have been recognised both here in US and in India for exceptional services provided to the Indian community.

The most recent one being the extension of Visas for the six Yakshagana and Kavya-Chitra artists who toured the USA after the WMKC-2000 Sammelana. I want to see that Second AKKA Conference will also be as successful and arranged in the same or better way as "WMKC 2000" in Houston.

In order to make AKKA a powerful National organization, I need your support.

About my background:

After graduating from University of the Bangalore where I received myBachelor of Science (B.Sc.), and Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.), degrees, I have practiced law in India until 1985. Then I migrated to USA with my wife. I pursued higher education at University of Detroit School of Law, where I received my Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and was
admitted to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and Michigan bars. I was the first foreign lawyer to be licensed in Michigan by the Michiganboard of Law examiners as special legal Consultant on the laws of India.

I am a Member of Pampa Kannada Koota of Michigan;
Family Life Member of AKKA;
Attended the First AKKA Conference "WMKC 2000" in Houston;

I am serving as Legal Adviser to American Telugu Association;

Served as Trustee and Chairman of Legal Committee for IAFPE (Indian American Forum for Political Education, Michigan Chapter);
Served as Board of Trustee of India League of America, Michigan;
Served as Board of Trustee at Bharthiya Family Services, Michigan,
Served On By Law committee Bharthiya Temple, Troy, Michigan,

Recipient of Hind Rathan award at 18th Annual NRI Convention held at New Delhi, for outstanding services to the Indian community.(Former Prime Minister Honorable H.D. Deve Gowda was chief guest);

Recipient of ATA award for excellence service in the field of Lawcontributing to the Indian Community at 5th Annual ATA north Americanconference.
