Read your excellent article on "buying culture" and Corporate America. As usual you excel in your poetic language and intuitive introspection of the pseudo world that we all live in. The world which has been telling that "Christmas is not about celebrating the birthday of baby Jesus but about showing to the world that we can buy gifts to the known and lesser known.
Celebrate your new Lexus with a bottle of red wine and a piece of chocolate cake sent truly by the dealer as thank you gift for buying the car with the interest that he sucks you for the next 20 years.
Be comfortable in a warm house watching the football game on a big screen TV ( courtesey Wells Fargo home mortgage program, 30 years and best buy NO down payment No interest till 2006).
Come an accident or a disaster, you are back on street claiming bankruptcy. Thank god for social security that your life goes on. Go to a County hospital , get a free health check up and a by pass surgery if you need.
Do you think that "cute" Buddha is an answer for this? I dont know. biTTu hOguva buddha corporate americakke "loser" aagi kaaNisuvudillavE? athavaa obba buddha biTTare I vyavasthe sarihOguttadeyE? I have my own doubts. I think that like Bhasmasura, it will die on itself.
Or, are we too dumb to accept that this is as good as it gets.
Excellent write up. Congratulations.

"kOrporET amEikakke buddha bEkAgiddAne" - One of the BEST articles I read in the last few months. My thoughts are exactly the same as Mr. Dattathri..
I just came back from India and I can attest for everything Mr. Dattathri has observed and written so eloquently! Sometimes I feel the corruption and bureaucracy which is so rampant in India, helps to slow down this mad race.May be a bless in disguise! We will all become the victims of this viSha anila and before we realize, this will destroy us. buddhAvatAra may not happen on time, but we shoud look for some sanity and practice modesty in our daily behavior. A great article indeed.

I am really impressed by your way of thinking. Yes, we need to have Bhuddha for corporate America. This capitalisam has taken the whole country in to its grip and I am seeing this is happening in India too. We, back in India, have to be very careful about this. It is really a nice article and wish, you will write more and more on such interesting topics.
Enjoyed reading the article. Youre absolutely right. kuruDu kaaMchaaNa ellavannU nelasama maaDuva munna, buddha eddu barabEku.

That was a hard-hitting, insightful article. Thank you for sharing your views.
How can ordinary citizens like me fight this? It seems not possible. How many of us can be like Gandhi? Again, not possible in this day and age.

Hello Mr. Dattatri,
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your article America needs Budha. As you said,we need someone like Gandhi.. Is anybody ready to be Gandhi ? Let my neighbours son be a monk.(My son..be in America!!)
Just lettting you know,it was an enjoyable reading.
Thank you! Its really a visionary article. Off course I dont like to say the thing or make comments on anything as I am also one of the so called IT Gulaama [even though in real doesnt mean what it sounds like :-)]. I always think why do we always expect some one to clean up our dirt. I think its time to initiate to do the right things by ourselves in what ever way and scale possible from us instead of expecting for another Budda or Gandhi keeping in mind mahatmas quote "First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win...
Thanking you again for an article which makes to think.
I am very glad Sandhya asked me to read your article. You have addressed profound issues and written it impressively and daringly. The greed complex requires a Gandhi or Buddha to transform the masses. Appreciate your taking the time address such high impact issues. I am tired of the debates on small stuff that fills the pages these days.
A very beautiful article. I endorse ur views and look forward to more on the same topic.

One of the best articles on globalization. I never saw such a indepth analysis on the effects of globalization. Universities should do more study on social and economical effects of free trade and should advice the administration on the consequences. But, wait a minute, who is listening? Definitely, not our government ...
till today I was worrying that India is not as progressed as America. Now, I know that "not progressing" is good in one way.

Dear Mr. Dattathri,
I enjoyed reading your article on the challenge to the speed of light. It was nice to read about the complicated subject that you have explained in a simple Kannada language.
